Butterfly paper garland

Butterfly paper garland

This butterfly garland, made from pegs and patty cases, is a super-simple craft idea to pretty up a little girl's room, or just to make that string-and-peg art display a little funkier.

What you need:

  • cupcake patty cases
  • wooden pegs
  • ribbon or string
  • stapler
  • permanent marker

Number of players:
1

Activity:

Step 1. Grab what you need to make the homemade paper garland.

Step 2. Start with one cupcake patty case. Fold it in half.

Step 3. Fold it again so it resembles a triangle.

Step 4. Repeat so you have two! Now, place the pointy ends of your folded patty cases together, slightly overlapping.

Step 5  Staple together.

Step 6. You’ve just created butterfly wings for your paper garland!

Step 7. Draw a little face onto the side of a wooden peg.

Step 8. Peg onto the ribbon or string. Repeat until you have a full garland of butterflies.

NOTE:

  • Due to the weight of the pegs, you’ll need the string or ribbon to be attached to the wall. This garland won’t work as well across a room as the butterflies will not sit upright.
