Easy costume: Where’s Wally costume

Creating dress up costumes doesn't have to be a costly exercise. You can make your own Where's Wally costume with what is in your wardrobe and a little bit of imagination.  It's a fun way to dress up kids for Halloween, Book Week or fancy dress parties.

What you need:

  • 1 x red and white striped T-shirt
  • 1 x pair of jeans
  • 1 x red and white beanie with pompom
  • 1 x pair of black-rimmed spectacles

Number of players:
1

Activity:

As with any dress up costume, it's all in the accessories.

The glasses are essential. We found a cheap pair of novelty glasses in the Hot Dollar shop and simply trimmed off the nose, moustache and eyebrows. Voila! A pair of simple black-rimmed spectacles for Wally.

If you can't find a red and white beanie with a pom pom, you can make your own red pom pom and then add it to a plain red beanie (which are a dime a dozen.)  Then add some white felt for a white stripe. Just glue it on. Nothing fancy. No sewing skills needed. No marks will be taken off for dodgy shortcuts.

Put on the red striped T-shirt. Put on some jeans.

Sometimes Wally walks with a cane (go figure?) sometimes not. Add the cane if you have one.

Oh and don't forget the silly grin!

Now go and do some photo-bombing of your own in your Where's Wally costume.
