How to make a sleek traditional paper plane

How to make a sleek traditional paper plane

Making paper planes is a simple paper activity for kids that leads to fun outdoor games as they fly their paper aeroplanes. This improved version of the traditional paper plane design is a bit more aerodynamic.

What you need:

  • 1 x A4 sheet of paper

Number of players:
1

Activity:

Fold the sheet in half lengthways.

Open it out again.

Now fold the left-hand side to the centre line.

Fold the right-hand side to the centre line.

Open it out.

Fold the top left corner down to the centre crease (the classic paper plane fold).

Fold the top right-hand corner down to the centre.

Take the left side and fold it to the centre crease to make steeper diagonal angle.

Do the same on the right.

Fold the left-hand side to the centre again, for an even steeper diagonal.

Do the same on the right.

Flip it over so that the blank side is facing up.

Fold it in half lengthways – so that the two mirror images match up.

Now just pop up the wings and give it a whirl.

This design will go hard and fast!
