Children love to play and get a little bit messy! Try this is outdoor activity that will encourage imaginative natural play and keep your kids busy for hours.

What you need:

• Can of shaving cream
• Dinner tray
• Mixing bowl

Activity:

Cover the back of a tray with shaving cream.

Kids will love touching and moving the shaving cream. They can use their fingers to write into the cream and create patterns.

Pour clean water into the mixing bowl, so kids can dip the shaving cream into the water and watch it float.

Notes:

• Shaving cream is loads of fun to play with – and it’s completely safe too. Kids will delight in ‘painting’ their own bodies with shaving cream and then using their fingers to create patterms through the shaving cream.
• Try applying shaving cream onto a window and then playing with it there – you can make interesting new windows, portraits and patterms on the window glass.
