Are you up for a challenge?

Have you ever tried or thought about trying your toddler’s formula? Sugar can come in so many hidden forms, sometimes in places you wouldn’t expect – like Toddler Milk! Luckily, Anmum has no added sugars in their toddler milk, just more of the great taste of natural dairy goodness.

Anmum PediaPro3 is a product from Fonterra, specifically made for toddlers aged over 12 months and designed to complement what they eat during the day. From 12 months, your toddler’s an active little person – playing, exploring and getting up to mischief, so it’s important to keep their nutrition up.

Fonterra’s paediatric nutrition experts have developed Anmum PediaPro3 with no added sugars, to make sure they’re getting the nutritional help they need to support their active bodies and minds. Every serve of Anmum PediaPro3 contains more of the wholesome goodness of milk, with no added sugars including no sucrose, no corn syrup, no galactose and no glucose.

The challenge: We want mums and dads to taste their toddler’s current formula along with Anmum to see if they can taste the added sugars in toddler milks.  If you can taste the difference, you have a full tin of Anmum PediaPro3 to help you slowly wean your little one off the sweet stuff!  You can find a guide to help you switch your little one to Anmum here.

Thank you so much for the chance of trying your product. Me and my son both tried it as it arrives in our doorstep. My breastfeed son who never tried any milk products yet loves it so much and i also like the taste of it. Will definitely add this to our shopping list.

Thank you for the opportunity to trial Anmum PediaPro3. What can I say? My 18 month old boy loves it. In fact, we’ve already finished the tin from the trial and I’ve stocked up more when it was on special.
We were originally using S26 but I found it to be very sweet and artificial. With the amount of added sugar and vanilla flavouring, it was no wonder it was so fragrant. My boy had no issues switching over and had no upset tummies either. When I first started him on S26, he had loose bowel motion for a while. It wasn’t the case with Anmum.
In addition to this, because it tastes more similar to cow’s milk, I’ve been able to introduce cow’s milk without any rejection. I’m not ready to move him to cow’s milk though, so it’s great to have found a product that I can count on to meet my boy’s nutritional needs without the added “nasties”.
Also, thank you for the additional goodies that came with the pack!

Thank you so much for selecting us for the trail. I have to say, I never thought about the sugar content in the formula! It does makes alot of difference when my toddler is still on bottle three times a day! It taste really natural and think we will definitely swap for Anmum next time 🙂

I would like to thank the kidspot for this opportunity to try this wonderful toddler formula. My 14 months old daughter loves the taste of the formula she drinks it without any problem! I tasted it aswell and liked the taste, still taste like a milk but no added sugar in it. This would be my daughter’s everyday formula now! Thank you for introducing this to me!! 🙂

  5. janiceynz 05/10/2017 at 6:57 pm

Annum was so much less sweet than our regular Milk powder. So good to have a powder to love to with less sugar now that my little one is 1y.

  6. Lornamoa 05/10/2017 at 6:44 pm

This was a great product to trial, I hadn’t realised that other toddler milks contained added sugar, so I am very please this one doesn’t.
My son has been on s26 and karicare, but hardly drank any and usually preferred breast to bottle. He has however taken a liking to this milk and now finishes his bottle at night and actually reaches for it as I am making it. It has been fantastic because I had been trying to wean him completely for a few months.
It doesn’t taste as sweet as the other formulas and it dissolves really easily with a few shakes. We will continue using this brand going forward. I like to give him a bottle at night to make sure he is going to bed with a full tummy, as after daycare he is tired and often doesn’t eat much dinner, and he has a bottle at daycare, which he likes to have after his nap.
I would recommend this formula over other toddler milks

We loved, loved, loved this product! We had been giving our wee one S26, which tasted really sweet to me and also take ages to dissolve. However the new Annum product dissolves really quickly and our boy loves it. He tends to drink a lot more of this product. I love that it’s not as sweet – no added sugar is a definite plus for us! We will be sticking with Annum for now on and I have been recommending it to other Mums too 🙂

  8. hdl3 05/10/2017 at 5:14 pm

We have been using karicare and our little one has enjoyed it. I definitely think the Anmum smells nicer! My little one has a definite sweet tooth – even when first started on solids would love eg Apple but turn her nose up at other less sweet options. We are actively trying to decrease the sugar intake in our whole family so Anmum really appeals. It has been well received here, no problems and I think a much healthier choice! Thanks Fonterra

I absolutely loved this product.. With twins it’s hard to find something that they both tolerate with 1 having reflux. Both girls done really well and my failure to thrive girl even gained weight which is definitely a bonus. Thank you for letting us be a part of it and we are proud to say we are now an anmum family

  10. Emma 04/10/2017 at 8:44 pm

Thanks for picking us to trail this formula. Miss 1 love it and doesn’t even know there is less sugar. It’s great because there is so much sugar in things these days I love how there is less in her formula. The taste was different also as I tasted both formulas to be honest I don’t know how my girl likes any formulas as I don’t like the taste haha but I think anmum was better in taste.
    Thanks again
Looking forward to trail more things in the future 😀🍼

This has been a great product to trial, because my toddler is such a fussy eater we like to make sure he has a cup of formula before bed to keep his tummy full for a good sleep! I have always been worried about the sugar level and had thought of changing to cows milk, bit after trying both formulas together the annum definitely tasted less sweet and my toddler finished the cup full each time! So a win for our family thank you

Thank you so much for selecting us to trial the Anmum PediaPro3 formula. Before this we were using Nurture 3 and my daughter had no trouble converting to the Anmum formula. One of the main differences we noticed was that it didn’t go all frothy when shaking the bottle, it was such a relief not to see that now, like she was just drinking regular milk. It certainly smelled so much better that the Nurture one which, to me, always stunk like it was off, but now that I think on it was more just a sickly sweet smell.

I feel this formula may be filling my girl more as she is definitely drinking less of Anmum, but that may be because It is a more nutrient dense drink compared to Nurture.

We are definitely converts to Anmum PediaPro3 and would totally recommend this formula to others.

I was excited to he selected to review this new formula… there is so much sugar in everything these days so to hear that there is a product out there with less is great…. when the package arrived I was quite excited to have a look and compare the ingredients between my usual formula and the Anmum…. one thing I liked to see was the higher concentration of saturated fats…. now everyone is scared of these but in reality these are the fats found in dairy and are actually nothing to fear… for my busy toddlers brain development it was a nice surprise together with the lower sugar… two ticks here.

On opening the tin I was pleasantly surprised to find the lip of the tin which proves very useful in making the scoop level…. another tick.

instructions are clear in terms of making up the formula… although perhaps the ratios of grams per scoop could have been easier/adjusted scoop size… say 1 scoop per 50ml instead of 45ml… more only relevant if making up a bottle outside of the 180ml suggested size… but that’s a minor.

As for the taste test I was worried it would still be quite sickly.sweet like the other brands as Vanilla flavour seems to have a habit of being over powering in the flavour department. And although my son isn’t fussy I’ve found previous formulas very sickly tasting…. Part of the challenge for this review was on flavour… now no don’t have my toddler taste buds any more but in comparing the taste to our usual formula I was please to find it much less sweet yet still sweet enough to entice the little one.. plus from the first bottle he guzzled them down and no I’ll effects on his tummy from the swap. so another tick here.

With all the positives I decided to go shopping to see the price difference… honestly expecting to find this priced well above my usual formula but was happy to see the price difference being in cents rather than dollars…

Following the trial I have now chose
to switch brands to use Anmum toddler as i find the nutitional content of benefit to my toddler and the lower sugar content is also a win.

So all in all of have to give this an 9/10 With the only negative being the odd mls per scoop (and this is really only because my son’s bottles go up in 10ml lots not 5mls).
    Great product and highly recommend

I forgot to mention in my review that I was comparing the Anmum pedipro 3 formula to S26 gold 3 toddler fomula

  14. Nevada11 02/10/2017 at 3:44 pm

Thank you for choosing us to be apart of this trial! 🙂 we are currently using blackmores formula but after trying and comparing I think we are coverted! The smell and taste of each formula were completely different! It actually amazed me! My daughter definately seemed to agree too! 🙂

  15. Bigam4 01/10/2017 at 3:41 pm

Thankyou so much for allowing me to trial this on my 2year old. He loved this formula and couldn’t of cared less that there was less sugar. Will continue to purchase this for my son in the future. Thanks again.

  16. My3girls 01/10/2017 at 9:03 am

We love this formula had tried nurture that just went frothy and s26 that had weird smell but this formula doesn’t have either of those, love that’s it’s nz made and reduced sugar. My daughter seems to really love it so will continue to buy. She is old enough now to go to normal milk but I love the extra nutritional value she gets especially as she can be a picky eater thanks for the trail

  17. sarahsefont 01/10/2017 at 7:44 am

Thank you for selecting my daughter and I to be part of the Anmum pediapro 3 formula trial. My daughter has now switched to Annum and easily changed over.I must admit that I was a bit nervous about tasting her formula but I thought if I won’t at least taste it why should she drink it.I first tried her old formula S26 and could immediately taste the sugar it was like a milkshake.I then tasted the Anmum pediapro 3 formula and it tasted just like milk to me.I am happy to know my daughter isn’t having any unnecessary sugar and all of her nutritional needs are being met.Thank you Kidspot

  18. Jhereal 01/10/2017 at 6:26 am

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to try this formula. My 2-yr old son loves it so much and even my 5-yr old son tried it! It’s not tòo sweet compared to S26 Gold. I notice that it’s creamier and it smells great compared to other formula. Thank you so much Kidspot!

  19. felicity beets 30/09/2017 at 9:34 pm

Thank you for letting me be part of this review. I had not thought much about the sugar in formula beforehand. I tried the Anmum brand along with our current brand. In comparison the other brand tasted far more sweeter – almost a sickly sweet condensed milk taste. The Anmum brand, although not quite like milk was a lot similar in taste. my son has not seemed to be disappointed in the less sweet taste and still happily drinks his bottle – so will definitely be switching to the lower sugar brand.

    • felicity beets 30/09/2017 at 9:35 pm

One thing would have preferred is if the scoop size was for 50 mls rather than 45 mls to make it easier to make up.

  20. Krystie 30/09/2017 at 5:09 pm

A huge huge thank you for selecting us to trial the Anmum pediapro 3 formula !!! We have now switched both our girls (21 month toddler and 5 month infant) to anmum. The first thing I noticed when I opened the tin was the absence of that typical sweet toddler milk smell… this more smelled like the milk powder we used to feed to baby lambs growing up! I made some up and found that it mixes beautifully. Next I tried a mouthful and wow what a difference ! The karicare stage 3 we have had our 21 month on tastes like a very sweet vanilla milkshake… this tastes just like regular milk! Over the space of a week we gradually transitioned our toddler on to anmum… I will admit that it did take a few days before she readily accepted it but it even so, it was much easier than I had anticipated! Our toddler is a very very bad eater. She refuses most and won’t touch or even go near a lot of foods.. we are therefore really quite reliant on formula to provide her with the nutrition that her growing body requires. We have been seeing a paediatric nutritionalist and are having repeat bloods done in another few months and so I’m super interested to see how the change has affected the results of those… will update when we’ve had them done!

Seeing as we had so much success with anmum for our toddler (she now LOVES it! And if she spots the tin she demands ‘moo moo’!!) we also decided to give anmum a go with our 5 month old. I was unable to successfully breastfeed so she has been on formula for 2 months now… we started on blackmores but had been having huge huge issues with constipation. Our poor girl was in agony and on all sorts of softeners. On the advice of our gp we decided to see if a change in formula made any difference so decided to give anmum neopro stage 1 a go… I’m gobsmacked! Our little girl is now super regular and we haven’t had an of the screaming episodes we had gotten so used to!

Thank you so so much Kidspot I am truly grateful to you for choosing us for this trial! It has given us 2 happy girls who we know are getting the nutrition they need 💜💕💜

Thank you so much for choosing me. My daughter loves the book you sent as and added bonus. My daughter absolutely loved your formula more than her current and drank it very fast and easily. So pleased that she took to it so well for not having added sugars in it. I loved the fact it was so easy to make up a quick couple of shakes was all it took and no lumps! it also smelt a lot nicer than her current formula which was good. I will definitely be buying Anmum for her now when I can find a supermarket that stocks it. The only downside I found was your 4 scoops and 180ml of water was not enough for her and I was having to make 1 cup and then another 1/2 cup just to satisfy her as with her old formula I was making 250 ml cups. Thanks for letting me review your formula and finding something that was a lot healthier for my daughter and one that she loved more than her current formula.

I was delighted to be picked to review to review the Annum Pediapro 3 Formula and thought it’d be an interesting challenge with my picky 16month old. She has been exclusively breastfed up until around 13months (wouldn’t take a bottle) and only recently started drinking from a straw bottle s26 gold formula. I had never put much thought into which formula i might choose but now comparing to Annum I am determined to avoid any additional added sugars if i can. So the review:

    Pros:
    – nice pleasant mild smell compared to the vanilla overload of S26.
    – slightly grainier texture but easy to mix formula.
    – Nice light colour
    – Clear win with all the nutritional components. Especially no added sugar (far too much sneaky sugar around our little ones these days).
    – Love the scoop leveler on the top of the tin too. Bonus!

    Cons:
    – my toddler didn’t enjoy an immediate switch the 1st time she tried it. I put that down to the added sugar in s26…grr!

However i have since adopted a changing ratio plan and so far my 16 month old is none the wiser that we are slowly moving to Annum. I 1st started with 1 scoop Annum and 3 scoops s26. We are now at 2 scoops of each and i plan to change that again in another couple of days. Fingers crossed we can get completely weaned off the sugar!

It definitely gives me peace of mind that i can trust what is going into my little human is nutrionally beneficial to her.

    Cheers!

My son has always been a fussy formula drinker with numerous cans opened and unused due to him refusing to drink even a few mls. Annmum however has been the biggest success for us full stop. The ease of mixing the powder into water, the smell is less obnoxious compared to others and also the no added sugars plus pre/probiotics provides a fantastic milk source for him. During the taste test the difference in sweetness is noticeable compared to other brands, however the texture and palatability are on another level of goodness. Even my four year old enjoyed the taste, whereas with past formulas she has spat it out immediately!

  24. Starrz24 27/09/2017 at 7:24 pm

Very pleased with this trial we have now switched to anmum for our 14 month old. It’s great tasting even without the sugar and the switch was easy. Tastes a bit like cows milk. I notice it the tin lasts much longer than the other formula we were using (s26) because the scoop is alot smaller. Great value for money and best option for our healthy growing toddler! Thanks Anmum 🙂

  25. samara 26/09/2017 at 12:56 am

Thanks for the great package and the lovely book and pencils accompanying the formula – the other kids loved it! It is always good to know something has no added sugar in this packaged world. The baby took to the new formula instantly with no problems. The smell and taste were appealing and it mixed well. I think Anmum is a little more ‘milk’ like in taste and all the kids though it was nicer than the current formula.

  26. Nicki Warhurst 25/09/2017 at 7:46 pm

Thank you for selecting us to trial Anmum PaediaPro3. The product mixed easily and I found the scoop was easier to use than our current formula. The packaging was attractive and contained lots of vital information about the product. The texture was creamy with a slight vanilla taste. It definitely was less sweeter and less artificial tasting than our current formula. I would be drawn to purchase this again over our current formula as it has no added sugar and contains probiotics and 15 essential vitamins and minerals. I am always trying to offer my son the healthiest option. Fonterra who manufacture this are also a company that I trust to produce a quality product. In summary, I would recommend this product to friends and family and purchase this product.

Thank you very much for letting us be part of this trial. My lo was giving up on formula, wasn’t really interested anymore until this came around now He asks for it all day long haha! Its alot thicker than the other brand we were using , more like cows milk.
I did only taste a little (Not very brave) but it does seem less sugary & will use this from now on.
    Defiantly recommend!

  28. k1234 22/09/2017 at 12:31 pm

Thanks for picking us to trial this formula. My daughter is not a keen eater unfortunately…so at 16 months we are still having bottles to ensure she gets enough calories and the extra nutrients she might be lacking in her diet. I was super keen to try Anmum to keep getting these benefits from formula without a load of sugar. We currently use Karicare and I can definitely smell and taste the difference between the two. Anmum smells more like real milk and although it still tastes nice and slightly sweet the Karicare is sweeter. Little miss took to it straight away so there was no weaning required which was great. The little scoop is easy to use and the formula mixes easy which is always a must for us…we will be switching to this now as I am concerned about my little ones getting unneeded added sugar in processed foods so this is one less product to watch out for it in.

  29. ShonaRussell 22/09/2017 at 12:31 pm

Thank you so much for letting my daughter trial this formula. We have always had the problem where she would never drink a whole bottle in one go. She is a real snacker and would take about three goes, over an hour period for her to finish a bottle. Since starting this formula this week, she is demolishing her bottles in one go, so she obviously prefers this formula.
I like the fact that is has less sugar. I had gestational diabetes with both of my pregnancies, and am now classed as pre-diabetic, so anything to lower her sugar levels and help prevent her getting diabetes is a bonus.
Thank you again for letting us trial this formula. It is now my formula of choice and will be buying this from now on.

  30. Rainbow 22/09/2017 at 9:56 am

Thanks so much for the opportunity to try this. My daughter was a premmie and so even though she is now 2 she loves her milk so we plan to keep her on formula a bit longer to get the extra nutrients. She also will not drink cows milk as obviously the sweet taste of the formula makes her prefer it. That is why I was keen to try Anmum to give her the advantages of formula without so much sugar. My initial thoughts were you can even smell the difference in the milk from the brand we used before which was Heinz Nurture 3. Anmum smells more like real milk. I had to do very little to wean her from the Nurture to the Anmum as she took to it straight away. The little scoop was easy to use and I ventured to take a sip of both and was really surprised in how different they tasted. You can definitely taste the sugar in the Heinz brand. I am so glad she likes the Anmum and I’ll be keeping her on this from now on. In addition the little pack of pencils and book were a nice touch and my 5 year old thought that was his present while his sister got the formula so thank you for that.
