How important is calcium in Childhood?

Just about every parent knows that children require calcium to build strong bones and teeth. Calcium is one of the most abundant minerals in the human body; bones and teeth contain 99% of the calcium in the body while the remaining 1% is distributed in other areas.

By the time your child reached age 17, almost 90% of their adult bone mass will already have been established. For this reason, it’s very important that your child gets enough calcium on a daily basis.

It is during childhood that a child’s body is most capable of absorbing calcium. But the fact is, most children and teenagers aren’t getting the calcium they need to build peak bone mass. If the body does not get enough calcium from food or supplements, it will take it from the bones, which can cause calcium deficiency.

Although it would be great if children could get the calcium they need through a calcium-rich diet, often it is not possible, either due to fussy eating, a restricted diet, or other circumstances. Children who drink soda, energy or caffeinated drinks absorb even less calcium because these substances may interfere with the way the body absorbs and uses calcium. But calcium is one nutrient kids cannot afford to skip.  Supplementation can help.

You can support your child’s healthy bone development with ChildLife® Liquid Calcium with Magnesium.

I would love to trial this product as I find it is hard to get my 1 year old to eat enough with calcium in it so this would be a way for me to ensure he is getting the correct amount.

I have a 1 year old boy and a 4 year old boy. It would be great for their health if they had liquid calcium with magnesium.

I would love to trial this with my 9month old daughter. Often at this age its hard to know how much vitimins and minerals they’re actually consumming and most food ends up on the floor. 🙂

I would love to trail this product for my Four year old daughter , she doesn’t like much dairy foods, more of a fruit and veg girl. This would help benefit her in the long run to help maintain strong and healthy bones 😊 orange is also her favourite so I think it would go down well 😀

My son is not in the age group specified but would love to trial this product with him he’s a very fussy eater he’s four years old. Am thinking this would be great to get some of the essentials he needs for his body with him not getting all the needed nutrients in his diet.

I would love to trial this; My son is 9 months old and is serverly intolerant to cows milk protein; we have had to cut all dairy from his diet so I do worry about his lack of dietary calcium intake.
I see this product contains no milk! Perfect! 👌🏼

I would be keen to try this for my 6 month old son. The product sounds to be a great support for a growing little body!

I would very much love to try this product on my boys. They are both dairy free due to it flaring up their asthma and I worry about their little bodies not getting enough calcium.

I have a 7 month old and nearly 2 year old who is a very picky eater who I would love to try this with.

  16. Kayleigh Jukes 04/04/2018 at 7:00 am

I’d like to trial this product for my son who turned 12 months yesterday as he’s just started to go through a picky eating phase so I’m trying hard to make sure he gets enough of the nutrients he really needs!

  17. Stef Chapman 03/04/2018 at 9:45 pm

My nearly 9 month old daughter would like to give this a try. At the moment she is going through a stage of feeding herself, not taking food from a spoon so it’s hard getting the right type of foods into her!

I have a 4 year old and a 8 year old who could benefit from this product. I would love to try it on them

  19. Mels 01/04/2018 at 4:04 pm

I would love to try this product for my 15mth old and for myself. We r on a restricted dairy diet due to intolerances so she can’t drink cows milk just yet so I am increasingly worried that she isn’t getting enough calcium in her diet and this would definitely be of great benefit. Pretty please!

  20. Cheryn 31/03/2018 at 4:54 pm

I’d love to try this with my 9 month old! He has just got his first tooth, he doesn’t eat much yet so these would be perfect to get the calcium in to him.

I would love to trial this for my six month old niece. She was a full term baby but struggled to put the weight on initially (unlike her two older brothers). There are also concerns for her having clicky hips as her mother had them as a baby and it is a trait that runs in the family. I know a product like this would be so helpful to my sister-in-law and as I am so involved in her life, I am able to administer it myself daily.

I have 3 children 1yrs, 4yrs and 12yrs old. I would love to trial this product as I feel they don’t get enough calcium in their diets. 12yr old doesn’t eat a lot of dairy due to lactose intolerantance. I think this product would help her bones, she seems to get sore wrists and ankles regularly

  23. lilblondee6 30/03/2018 at 9:22 pm

I would absolutely love to trial this as my middle child seems to have sleeping issues and I’ve been told it can be due to a lack of magnesium. Other things we’ve tried are not so simple to use.🙂

I would love to try this for my 3 year old who was a micro prem and is also a fussy eater. Thank you

  25. jakesmum6 30/03/2018 at 4:00 pm

I would like to try this for my child, he had a very sickly start to life and as winter approaches I would like him to have extra mineral to keep him healthy at a time when his immunity made need an added boost. the fact that it is in liquid form appeals to me as there are no solid or gummy things that could be choked on by small children
Also he doesn’t enjoy his milk bottles that much anymore as the calcium would be a welcome addition to his diet.

I would love to trial this as my 10 year old is a fussy eater, he does a lot of sport so this product sounds great.

Hi I have osteo and musculoskeletal problems and my daughter who’s 5 and was dairy free (due to health issues) when younger so she struggles to like it now… at the end of last year she broke her arm and I have been curious as to what might be a good supplement to support her bone repair and growth as well as build density. I haven’t because I don’t want to start buying things and play the pricey hit and miss game… so I would love to trial this product 😀 please and thank you with the cherry on the top 😆

  28. kerrynd 29/03/2018 at 9:30 pm
