My 9 year old is very independent and has discovered a love of baking. The Betty Crocker mixes gave her the opportunity to create delicious dishes all by herself (and with a friend).

We trialled the Brownie Mix and the Devils Chocolate cake both were simple to make, came out perfectly and absolutely delicious.

My daughter had a lot of fun making them and now she’s making treats for her own lunch box and mine!

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to trial these mixes. We are fans!

These products were fantastic and meant no arguing with my boys over who was going to do what. We used the method of oil instead of butter for both the brownie and the cake and it made such a moist and chewy brownie and a really nice, moist cake. We melted the frosting before using it and it tasted sooooooo good and saved the mess of mixing icing sugar and butter together. Neither product lasted long after they were cooled enough to eat but my kids couldn’t get enough of them

We loved these products! My daughters loved being able to bake these themselves with not much help from me, and they tasted amazing. We used the Devils food cake when we had family coming for afternoon tea and it was a hit with everyone. The brownie made a yummy addition to school lunchboxes 🙂 I loved having the opportunity to try these products and will be buying them regularly for my girls to bake with.

Well the Devils Food cake went so fast, it was delicious! So my daughter made the Triple Chocolate Brownie last night. It was easy to make, instructions very easy to follow. This also tasted delicious. The packaging look great too. Our family will be buying the Betty Crocker range in the future. The mixes are so quick and easy to whip up, and taste great. Thank you for allowing us to trial these, it has opened us up to a new shopping goodie for our trolly!

Whilst I was out my son baked the Devils Food cake (under husbands supervision). What a pleasant surprise! It must be a very easy recipe to follow, so awesome for the kids. He loved baking it to surprise me when I got home. Sorry only got picture of the cake, no packaging as he put that in the fire. It tastes lovely, and wont last long in our house! Packaging is cool, stands out. I will be buying this cake mix in the future knowing its quick and easy for the kids to put together, and tastes yum! Thanks.

Thanks for the opportunity to review these products. We loved the brownie, it’s gooey and super easy to make and was already a favourite in our household prior to trial. The frosting is very convenient to have in the pantry for last minute baking for school lunches etc, it’s nice and chocolatey and easy to spread. The devils food cake was not such a hit with the kids, they found it a bit plain but it was very quick and easy to make. Overall, the brownie mix will continue to be on the shopping list – it’s delish!

Thank you for sending the great Betty Crocker products to try. My 6 year old son made the brownie all by himself. With only a couple of pantry staple ingredients to add, it was whipped up in no time at all, great for when visitors pop around for coffee!

When we make it again, I’d probably use a slightly smaller tin than that which was suggested as the end result seemed a bit thin for brownie, it was more of a slice consistency too so a little less cooking to make it a bit more gooey.

Will definitely have some of these products in the pantry for days my son wants to bake but we are short on time to get everything out and measure!

What an awesome thing to review! My kids loved making the cake and the brownie. The good thing was how easy it was for them to do it alone – this is a definite bonus! We all liked the taste of both but the brownie was probably the preferred item. The uncooked mixture was definitely nicer in the brownie – everyone has to lick the bowl, right?! Haven’t looked to see how much these cost but would certainly consider putting them on the shopping list!

We have had a busy few weeks with my daughter turning 6, shared work lunches and a couple of weekend playdates. We were lucky enough to be chosen to trial some Betty Crocker baking mixes which was awesome because miss 6 and miss 2 love to bake. I did a trial birthday cake for miss 6 birthday party, that I let the girls help me with. They liked that the box shows you what ingredients were needed, and had some easy steps that miss 6 could read and miss 2 could follow. We made the devil’s food cake and it was so easy. Afterwards we used the frosting and it was easy enough for the girls to ice the cake on their own, while also eating about half of it hahahah. Luckily enough the icing tub was big enough that it probably would have done about 2 or 3 cakes, the same size as the packet cake one. I have kept some in the fridge and it will likely do one more cake.
The cake was yummy but very rich, I’d maybe add a bit of vanilla essence next time just to mellow the flavour a bit, but that is personal preference.
I had a shared lunch at work last week so I let the girls make the Triple chocolate brownies. This was such a yummy recipe and again, so easy to make and follow the instructions. The brownies were very moist which is my preference when it comes to brownies.

We were so impressed with the baking mixes that we also bought their rainbow chocolate chip and normal chocolate chip, cookie mixes and made cookies for a day at a friend’s house over the weekend. These definitely tasted a bit more like packet cookies than made from scratch, but they were still delicious and we’re eaten all up. I made them slightly larger than the packet reccomended but they still made more than enough.
As a busy mum working full time, I will definitely be making packet mixes more often in the future.

My son and I were lucky enough to review the Betty Crocker Devils Food cake mix, Triple Chocolate brownie mix as well as the Chocolate frosting. We tried the brownies first and it was so so easy. My son (nearly 3) loves to help with the baking so these were great because instead it was me helping him with the baking. Everything was so easy to mix and the extra ingredients required are a staple in our cupboard already. The directions on both mixes were easy to follow and really clear. It was great being able to let my son take control and do the mixing and pouring. I would highly recommend these mixes (and probably any other Betty Crocker mix) to any family who would like to bake together and let the kids take control and the adult be the assistant. Another good thing about the mixes is that they also give you tips on different ways you could do the cake, possible additions you could add to the brownie which was handy to know. We did add walnuts to our brownies just for something a title different.

This was an amazing product to review the instructions were easy to follow and the pictures helped my son work out what we needed in it. The mixture came together very smoothly with no issues and baked perfectly we shared the brownies with the workers who took down a tree in our front yard and they thought we made them from scratch I kinda took the praise Haha I will definitely be keeping these stocked up in the cupboard we are doing the cake and icing this weekend as a birthday treat

We had agreat time with our betty crocker cake mixes ! Thanks so much for letting us try them
My favourite was the Betty Crocker tripple choc brownie
It was SO simple and the thing that took the longest was actually our oven heating up 😂
The instructions were so simple and easy to follow.

The frosting we actually used for a friends sons birthday on top of his gluten free cake to mske it a bit more appealing we used it as the glaze and drizzled it all over it

The devils food cake i made all by myself when the kids were at school one monday 😂 although was so yum i did have to stop myself eating it all before everyone came home it was also very simple to prepare and very straight forward instructions
    Frosting was included in box
Cake was moist and super yummy
I will say i was super impressed its pretty much fool proof as usually all my baking is terrible

Loved the Betty Crocker baking mixes. Baking with a 7yr old is a lot of fun but much more fun when there is only a few simple instructions for her to follow and she was able to do so on her own measuring and cracking eggs. We loved the easy to use and spread frosting which tasted great.
We especially loved the brownies they were a real hit with the kids they like them more on the firm side however I loved them more gooey.
Thanks for the trial baking we loved it. Yum

I thought this was a great product and it’s such a good one to have kids help with when you don’t have to worry about sieving and it going everywhere and only getting half in the actual bowl!! It was super easy, super quick and tasted so good and the brownies were nice and fudgy, which I love! They were a big hit, especially with the chocolate chunks and the frosting being in the container is nice cause you can have a sneaky spoonful! It cooked a bit quicker for me but as I only have a little plug in oven, I was amazed they came out as good as they did. Highly recommend and I think they’re great products if you’re on holiday for a birthday or an occasion and you can just take it with you to make, easy as!

My 7 year old and I were lucky enough to be picked for this trial, and it arrived at the perfect time. He wanted to make a cake to share with his class for his birthday, so out came the devil’s food cake. He was so proud to be able to tell the class that he had made it all by himself, and the class thought that it was really neat.
He then made the triple chocolate brownie to share with his Nana, Grandad and Grandma the following weekend.
The frosting was nice and creamy and I ended up using it for a cake I had to take for a morning tea at work.
Thank you Kidspot and Betty Crocker for letting us trial these, I would definitely recommend using these mixes.

As a mum to a 2 year old I love how easy this was to do with a toddler whose favourite phrase is “me do it”. These make it so easy for him to actually do a lot of the work without the mess. We took them away with us to my dad’s whose house is not as well equipped for baking as ours and had no issues putting the cake together and was enjoyed by me, my son and my grandparents. The Brownies got made on a rainy day in Christchurch and was a perfect distraction from being stuck inside. I am so tempted to buy some to have in the cupboard for those grumpy days where nothing seems to get us out of our funk. The only thing that could improve these was if they had lower sugar options, as I usually try to do lower sugar baking to keep our sugar intake down.

The Betty Crocker mixes were so quick and easy to make!
I over-baked the brownie, so it was quite cakey but it was still delicious. Definitely put it in the oven on its own, otherwise it doesn’t cook in the time the instructions state. Whoops! Now we know for next time! Mr 6 has asked to buy more.
The cake was so quick and easy to make, even Mr 6 could make it! We warmed the icing slightly so it was easier to spread and I let him do some of the icing too! It’s great having him in the kitchen baking with me without having to measure too many ingredients. Tipping everything from a bag into the bowl is a lot less mess than trying to measure all the dry ingredients separately! The cake cooked perfectly with the time stated on the box. It was so moist and delicious!
I think they were very convenient, with clear instructions and I really like how they have alternative options for ingredients to add, and also other ways to bake the mix. Great for getting kids in the kitchen, and for the most part stress free!
I really liked the convenience of the icing. It was a bit hard to spread on the cake when it was room temperature, the cake was so moist and a little crumbly when we cut it in half and tried to ice the middle. Warming it slightly helped. I think using it at room temperature would work really well for piping. Again, there was alternative ways to use it on the packaging (as a glaze) which I think is handy!
The cake was better than the brownie, but as mentioned that could be because it was over baked. We will give it another go for sure! The cake is a favourite in our house so I can see us buying the mix often!

We were the very lucky recipients of two of the Betty Crocker baking mixes, and the delicious chocolate frosting. We have found both of the baking mixes incredibly easy to use. In fact, my three year old even managed to make the devils food cake mix by herself (with supervision of course), so it literally couldn’t be simpler! The box contained very clear instructions as to how to make the cakes, and also which other ingredients are required (which is super handy if you’re picking it up in the supermarket). I really loved it, as instead of having to make my daughter wait whilst I measured out ingredients, it was already done, so she could be independent in making her own cake, which meant smiles all round. I am often a little stressed after I have finished baking with her, but this time it was just a breeze.

Both mixes produced delicious results. I think that the brownie was a narrow favourite in our house, but both tasted as if we had made them from scratch, which was a huge relief. The frosting was also delicious, and really great that it also doubles as a glaze. This was particularly handy, as I also used it as a dipping sauce for fruit when some friends came over, and everyone struggled to believe it was out of a packet!

Overall, these are perfect for parents everywhere wanting to take the hassle out of baking with kids. They turn out beautifully, super simple to make, and, most importantly in my opinion, taste delicious! A huge thank you to both Kidspot and Betty Crocker for letting us review these, and we simply couldn’t recommend them more highly!

My almost 6yr old took the lead making the Triple Chocolate Brownie. The fact that it only has 2 other ingredients to add along with the mix, means that children on the younger side like this feel capable of seeing the activity through (often she get bored waiting for the ‘next step’ in a standard baking recipe and ends up wandering off) . She cracked both eggs independently aswell as measuring out the oil (I chose this option so she could do it alone easily). She was super proud to be able to tell anyone lucky enough to get a taste test after it was cooked that she did it all by herself!!

I whipped up the Devils Food cake yesterday as I had to take kai for a night course I am doing. It is so handy with Betty Crocker mixes to just be able to get it quickly mixed and in the oven, especially with a 1yr old at your feet. Everyone raved about the lovely moist delicious cake.

The chocolate frosting is lovely and creamy aswell as deliciously chocolatey! my eldest daughter and I used it to ice a batch of cupcakes for a well deserving neighbour. My daughter especially liked how it is nice and sticky so the sprinkles don’t fall off !

Thankyou Betty Crocker and Kidspot, and yummy review panel to get to be part of!

Thank you so much for the chance to try the Betty Crocker Baking mixes.
I always find life way too hectic to get time to do any baking these days.
These packs were so convenient! I go my not quite 2 y/o to do (almost) all the mixing and pouring. Yes things did get messy, but it showed how easy it is to make these!
Took a bit longer to cook than stated on the box, but that could just be an issue with my oven.
The taste was great, it’s pretty hard for cake/brownies to not taste good though (in my opinion). I do however think that these weren’t as great tasting as made from scratch goodies.
But for the speed and convenience of these mixes i’d say they are well worth it, and for those last minute baking needs these are a great option. I will definitely consider buying these in the future.

My apology for my review veing so late. Have had 2 sick chrildren and have only just completed the baking for review.
Myself and mr 9 did the baking together we first made the chocolate brownie. We used cooking oil in place of the butter , it was a very simple process and the end result not great as we found it quite dry.
The devels chocolate cake we used the same method of the oil instead of butter i cooked it for 35 minutes and it seamed cooked after that time.
We iced it with half frosting and half butter icing. And we found it delicious, not to ritch .
We thankyou forngiving us the opportunity, my son totally enjoyed it.
I tried to upload pics but the file was to big.
