Fruit bread & butter pudding

An old family favourite, this recipe for bread and butter pudding uses fruit loaf rather than white bread. Served with ice cream, your family are sure to love this dessert.

Fruit bread & butter pudding

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of fruit loaf
  • 250ml carton lite cream
  • 1/4 cup of demerera sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbs butter

Method

Butter bread and cut bread into triangles

Layer triangles in greased baking dish

Mix cream, eggs, and cinnamon in bowl and pour over bread

Sprinkle sugar over bread, cover and rest for one hour.

Cook at 180C for 40-45 min. Remove from oven and stand for 5 min

Serve with icecream
