Whether you have a child who just loves to learn or you’re home-schooling for a period of time, there are a number of great resources available online that can help keep their education going in a fun way.
Check out some of our favourite resources below ⬇️
For little bookworms
Reading Eggs makes learning to read interesting and engaging for kids, with great online reading games and activities. And it really works!
Children love the games, songs, golden eggs and other rewards which, along with feeling proud of their reading, really motivate children to keep exploring and learning.
For budding travellers and geographers
It doesn’t get much better than National Geo for Kids. Bringing the best of the world into your home, kids can learn about volcanoes, dinosaurs, space, their bucket list destinations and more on natgeokids.com!
There are games, articles, comps and more, all tailored for kids and with new content being uploaded regularly, kids can keep learning all year round.
For scientists and artists
Mind Lab Kids allows kids in New Zealand and beyond access to a heap of super fun learning challenges, all of which are completely do-able at home. They give kids agency to lead their learning in a direction that they choose, while putting those after school hours and standard home technologies (that have so much unused potential) to use!
For your underwater explorer
An awesome website for ocean enthusiasts, this Kiwi owned site takes kids under the sea. Father/daughter duo Steve and Riley educate kids about the ocean with a number of fun, fact-filled videos. They talk about the environment, answer tricky questions about sea life and have a number of articles on turtles, sharks, dolphins, the Hauraki Golf and more!
Kids can also take some quick quizzes and there are a few fun activities thrown in the mix too.
For your future astronaut
NASA’s Kidsclub is one of the coolest websites for little space-lovers. While the Kidsclub is limited in content, it is still a great source of information for space enthusiasts. The site also has direct links to NASA resources and your child can engage with the NASA TV channel, find out about all past a present NASA missions and check out their must-see images of the day.
