Philips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump

The Philips Avent Double Electric [Breast] Pump is quiet and very comfortable to use. It doesn’t drip when removing as it has a ridge just inside the flange that catches any milk as you remove it from your breast. I can see down through the pump from the top at how much is dropping into the bottle so it’s easy to monitor my milk flow. 10/10 for this product I highly recommend.

TheNZsuperNanny

All in all I’d highly recommend this pump, it is efficient, user friendly, and above all else comfortable to use- definitely the best home pump I’ve used so far.

Kayleigh Jukes

I’ve used this for about a week every day and each day I have seen great results, within 15minutes I have been getting atleast 50-80mls from each breast, so imagine what a full pumping session will provide!

taliajordane01

The Philips Avent Double Electric [Breast] Pump is a dream to use, having the flexible shield size means you don’t need to measure your nipples and then make sure you are using the right size for you, this pump literally works for everyone. The 16 expression settings is the best thing if your supply is a bit lower, as you just find the setting that best fits your day. It literally gets your letdown flowing within 10 seconds!! I was so impressed …

mazdagirl

Sleek, easy to use and convenient; it’s definitely the one-stop shop of breast pumps, particularly that it has the double pump capability too. I would definitely recommend this pump to any new mum (or seasoned mum who needs an upgrade from your clunky old machine). You’re worth it!

When I received the Philips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump, I was a bit worried it wasn’t going to have the power of the hospital-grade pumps I’d used as it is very lightweight- how wrong I was!

The suction on this machine is more than sufficient. I personally only needed to use level 4 on the stimulation setting, and level 5 on the expression setting to achieve maximum milk flow, though if you need more the pump can provide (with 8 stimulation and 16 expression levels to choose from). I was able to pump as much as I would with a double electric hospital-grade pump after 20 minutes in half the time, which left me extra time each day to do cleaning and cuddle my beautiful baby!

The pieces (which are all BPA free, another plus) were quick to assemble and disassemble, with all of them being wide enough to clean thoroughly- something I find really important to ensure nothing gross accumulates over time. Also, not needing to pick the flange size is a game changer, especially if you’re new to pumping where so many details can be overwhelming. I was concerned that there’d be discomfort since it is a universal flange, but it’s a comfortable pumping experience, especially since you can sit upright instead of leaning forward, so backache is a thing of the past (in relation to pumping at least haha).

All in all I’d highly recommend this pump, it is efficient, user friendly, and above all else comfortable to use- definitely the best home pump I’ve used so far.

    Pros:
    Quick extraction of milk
    No leaning forward to pump
No need to find the right shield size
Comes with a handy bag and insulated pouch
    Quiet motor
Long cord so no need to sit close to a power source
    Super lightweight

    Cons:
Flange is a little loose (doesn’t affect pumping)
Can be a bit top heavy
    Only fits wide neck bottles
Not compatible with pumping bras which have a circular hole (need to use one with slits)

I was VERY lucky to be able to review this pump. All I can say is what a great, efficient pump. I’ve used this for about a week every day and each day I have seen great results, within 15minutes I have been getting atleast 50-80mls from each breast, so imagine what a full pumping session will provide! I am returning to work and can honestly say this product will be my lifesaver. The product comes with travel bags which is so handy and great for storage. There’s not lots of loose, confusing parts which make it easy to put together, pull apart and clean. The pump itself is actually pretty quiet which is great. The suction is very strong, I’ve found it I wear my bra I can sit the flange in so it’s almost hands free 🙌. Can easily adjust suction levels which is easy peasy, I did find I had to read the manual a few times to be able to understand which each light etc.. means and now to figure it out, but learnt it all in no time. This pump would be even more amazing with a breast feeding bra that this can slot into. I found the suction levels to be quite strong so luckily can be lowered down if need be. With my first daughter (now 3yo) I had a single Tommee Tippee electric pump and never really had great results with it, so was sceptical coming into to try this, but SO SO glad I did. I have E sized boobs and slightly larger sized nipples and found with my previous pump (tommee tippee) that it was hard to keep suctioned to my boobs and wasn’t fitting my nipple as well as it should but for me, this pump fits great, which also helps provide great results. Thank you for helping my feeding journey and return back to work go so smoothly. Have already recommended this pump to other breastfeeding ladies! Definitely not disappointed.

I have to say when I recently purchased a secondhand double electric pump I thought that that was the best pump I had ever used, man was I wrong! The phillips Avent double electric pump is a dream to use, having the flexible shield size means you dont need to measure your nipples and then make sure you are using the right size for you, this pump literally works for everyone. The 16 expression settings is the best thing if your supply is a bit lower, as you just find the setting that best fits your day. It literally gets your letdown flowing within 10seconds!! I was so impressed, being able to pump in literally minutes is super handy with a 4yr old and newborn.

Also, as I managed to develop mastitis having these 16 expression settings plus the 8 suction settings meant I was able to adjust to suit the pain I could handle, where most pumps just have suction settings only. This helped me clear the blockage so much easier and gentler than I previously was able too.

The fact that this pump comes with bottle lids and stoppers as well as the travel bag and pouch means when I do return to work I will be able to take this to work and have my pumped milk stored in the insulated bag so I dont need to keep it in the staff fridge.

I also love that Phillips Avent have thought about the design of the bottles, I havent had a pump that stands up while attached to the pump, they all tip over.

The pump and accessories are all super easy to remove and clean, and they all feel really substantial compared to most silicone pump parts.

I’m really excited to have this pump by my side for my breastfeeding journey, its seriously going to make pumping much more enjoyable, especially if babe sleeps through the night I can wake and pump without waking the house up as its quieter than others.

This is one pump every mum needs in her life.

I would love to try this! At the moment when I’m I am full I am hand pumping this would be amazing and a double pump would save me so much time

  5. Paige 06/03/2023 at 10:32 pm

I would love to try this double breast pump out. I am a first time newborn mum with 2 step kids running around. Having gotten mastitis 2 weeks after my daughter was born I was put on a heavy dose of antibiotics that didn’t agree with her tummy, I was lucky enough to have had an over supply of milk letdown that I was collecting in the previous with a suction pump while I fed on the opposite side so was able to bottle feed this to my baby while I was on the antibiotics. Unfortunately I now have a baby who won’t feed off the breast and will only take the bottle 😢 this has meant for the past 5 weeks I have been manually expressing milk every feed as she is still exclusively fed breast milk and I really don’t want to have to go to formula. This is extremely time consuming and tiring for me so having a double electric breast would be life saving for me, I would love to be considered for reviewing this product

Would love to trial this pump. With my daughter I was able to use the older avent pump and would love to see how this one compares. My son is currently 4 months old and would like to start pumping so that my partner can do the occasional feed so that I can have a break/me time. I have also previously tried a crane and a Spectra pump.

  7. Kayleigh Jukes 03/03/2023 at 7:07 pm

I would love to try out this pump!
I’m currently pumping and have pumped previously with 2 different electric pumps, and I’m especially keen to try out a pump that doesn’t need specific sized shields, it sounds like a really cool concept so it’d be good to see if it’s as effective as flanges that are specifically your size!

I find the different rhythms/stimulation really helpful for maximising expressing amounts so this pump is sounding pretty great if it works how it’s advertised to, I would love to find out firsthand(:

  8. Trudi 03/03/2023 at 9:47 am

My daughter would appreciate to give this ago. She is a first time mum and just would help her save a bit of time

  9. bhemara 03/03/2023 at 9:09 am

I’m due in August with my first and have been reading reviews of ALL the breast pumps. Would be super keen to try this out and give an honest first-timers review

  10. Grm124 03/03/2023 at 4:47 am

I would like to try this product as I have tried a single electric pump, and now a hands free pump bit have not been super impressed with their performance. Maybe I just haven’t found the one that works best for me yet? I’d love the opportunity to try another and hopefully have better success! I pump for storage and so my partner can do a bottle a night and have that bonding experience too 🙂

  11. AimeeMcKie 03/03/2023 at 3:12 am

I’m due to have baby number two by the end of this month, my daughter is six years old and so much has change since having her.
I’d love to trail this to see the changes in technology.
Having pumped last time around but since given away my old pump this would be perfect!

  12. Scythemaxwell 02/03/2023 at 10:37 pm

I’d like to trial and review this pump as I’m now on my 4th month of pumping and still haven’t quite found the right pump for me, I’ve tried the Medela, Spectra, Milkbar, Tiny Bloom, Youha wearables, Bellema wearables and Milkii wearable. Have wasted so much money on them so looks like my search has ended unless this is the one! I’ve certainly had enough to compare to. Would love to find one that is comfortable but effective enough for me to keep pumping to feed my little man who was unable to latch due to a rough start in NICU

  13. SarahAHarrison 02/03/2023 at 9:37 pm

Double breast pump, uhm, YES !!!
I used this Avent single breast pump for my son & loved it, so disappointing there wasn’t a double version though. Now with #2 on the way, the idea that i can pump both at the same time excites me. Half the time each pump session, less chance of spillage & leakage swapping over, this would be the chance to enjoy breast feeding for longer & keep Mum & Baby happy 😊

  14. Hayley Roil 02/03/2023 at 7:59 pm

Currently 24weeks pregnant with baby number 3. Successfully breastfed first two babies for 8-11months before returning to work. Would love to review this pump when baby 3 is born as I think its important for our family to let dad and my two boys give a bottle feed and a pump would be super helpful to achieve this.

  15. MonStapp 02/03/2023 at 6:53 pm

Would love to try a double pump to halve the time spent pumping for my 6 week old. Currently having to use a haaka on the side that’s not being pumped to catch the leakage! The rest of the whanau will be grateful for the extra time saved too 🙂

  16. alisha 02/03/2023 at 6:33 pm

I would love to test this breast pump as a mum to a 3 month old that is currently breastfed on demand as it would be helpful to express milk for bottle feeds

  17. sharthy 02/03/2023 at 5:18 pm

Would love to try this pump out. Have tried both manual and wearables of other brands and found them uncomfortable or inconvenient. With a new born would love to give this a go to help with the expressing journey and hopefully it makes it a bit easier

  18. c_white 02/03/2023 at 4:44 pm

I would love to try this pump, I’m due for our second baby and the pump I used for our first was second hand and gave up the ghost! I’d love a nice new one to try this time around.

  19. CharlotteScherf 02/03/2023 at 4:13 pm

I would really love to try this pump as i am exclusively pumping for my 4 week old.

  20. Lexisteer11 02/03/2023 at 4:13 pm

I would love to try this, I’m 39weeks pregnant and had a troubled start to breastfeeding with my now 2yr old daughter and have only got a manual pump due to financial reasons xx

  21. dani_florence14 02/03/2023 at 4:05 pm

I would love to give this pump a try! Especially being due with number 3 in a couple of weeks. I’ve been contemplating pumping this time around to mix feed.

  22. Jodyw75 02/03/2023 at 3:29 pm

I would love to trial this pump. I’m a single mum by choice, trying to switch careers as my previous career had atrocious hours and no flexibility, and I couldn’t do that once I became a mum. So I’ve become a fulltime student, so all my time is precious now. I could only ever afford the most basic single pump, a double pump would be amazing. My toddler is a voracious feeder and I can’t keep up, but if I could pump in my lunch break, that would help my supply and also mean much less pain the days he is away at daycare if you know what I mean. I also want to have another baby soon, and the first six months feeding my son was so hard, I had to triple feed, having my own pump would be so much better, the midwife took hers back after a few weeks and so I really struggled. I don’t want to struggle with the next one.

  23. cornpoid 02/03/2023 at 2:36 pm

Having already purchased and used a lot of the Philips Avent range particularly for newborns as well as the manual breast pump – I would love to try this electric breast pump. I’m especially excited about the new continually adapting nipple shield.

  24. Sshika 02/03/2023 at 12:06 pm

Would love to try this pump out 💜

  25. mazdagirl 02/03/2023 at 8:56 am

I would love to try this electric pump due to it having the nipple simulation and suction feature.
I was able to donate all my milk with our son to mums who were struggling too, and that was with a single electric pump. having a double pump would half the pumping time which would be ideal with a newborn and a toddler

  26. victoriaw 01/03/2023 at 10:16 pm

I would love to trial and test this out. My baby is almost 5 months, and I am returning to work next month, part time, so looking to express milk for him to have while I’m at work. This would be put to great use so I can provide an honest review.

  27. Terrinnz 01/03/2023 at 6:09 pm

Hi I would love the open to try this breast pump please. I’m a solo mum and could never afford a pump like this. I have never had a break from my son so would be nice to be able to pump to get my son on the bottle so I can go out and also so I can pump and get me a job. Please please consider me please 🙏.
    Thank you ☺️

  28. Natasha Scott 25/02/2023 at 11:09 pm

I would love to try this pump please. I’ve struggled with finding the right flange sizes when pumping for my 7 month old. The Avent flexible shield sounds amazing! The double pump is also a bonus to help make expressing milk a lot quicker.

  29. LeaB 19/02/2023 at 3:14 pm

I would like to try the Phillips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump because it is more reliable than the wearable pump that I’m currently using. I have only one pump which takes more time to pump compared to the double pump of Avent. The flexible shield is better so that I don’t have to buy a separate shield size for this pump.

    • Tesha 20/02/2023 at 11:04 am

It would be awesome to try this, i have wanted to try pumping and am very interested in this please

  30. tingson.arlene 18/02/2023 at 9:46 am

Have failed long-term pumping for my 2 older kids. Have had challenges in 1) figuring out the right shield for me – the ones I tried with previous pump felt uncomfortable and 2) expression settings were limited – couldn’t seem to find one that would balance comfort and ample expression.

Now that I have another baby, would love to try this. The flexible shield and 16 expression settings sounds very promising! ❤️
