Beef and vegetable dinner

This beef and vegetable dinner is one of the easiest ways to introduce meat to your baby. By cooking it simply and then pureeing it with cooked vegetables, you will have a delicious puree that baby will find easy to eat.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sweet potato

    peeled, diced

  • ½ cup peas

    fresh or frozen

  • ½ cup cooked beef mince

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

if your baby is over 10 months

Equipment

  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 food processor

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan combine sweet potato and peas.
  2. Add enough water just to cover.
  3. Cook until tender, reserving liquid.
  4. Put beef, carrots, peas, and tomato paste (if your baby is over 10 months), into a food processor and puree, adding reserved water until the mixture is the desired consistency for smaller babies, or chop as needed for the older/toddler baby.

Notes

Tip
Puree the mixture with reserved water until it reaches the desired consistency for smaller babies.
Tip
For older babies or toddlers, you can chop the mixture instead of pureeing.
Tip
Tomato paste should only be used if your baby is over 10 months old.
