I was eager to trial this as my children both suffer from chronic hay fever dust allergies and have been looking for possible solutions beyond continual medication. After only 2 days of running the Dyson in our main living area, I noticed my son had stopped sneezing and scratching his eyes as much so we continued to use this over summer. . The air quality has improved dramatically in our house which is in line with the app which has also showed improved air quality over the past month.
Another major plus for us is that it’s light and portable so we can take it to the kids rooms during the day so they have good air quality over night and with no fan blades buzzing around, it’s safe for little hands. We move it around the house often and it’s quick and fuss free to set up. The remote contains a magnet so it also fixes to the top of the unit so when we move it around we don’t lose the remote, bonus!
The app was easy to install and set up really easy to set up and we used this as much as the remote. I liked the ability to actually see the impact of Dyson with regard to temperature, humidity and overall air quality. The app also gives the ability to update the room selection wherever you have the unit placed in the house which is handy when you want to keep track of the quality of air in the kids rooms..
The heater is very efficient but being summer, we didn’t use this for very long before we were sweltering but I have no doubt this will be our best friend over the coming winter months!
I found the sound of the fan in general fine and not disruptive, however, at night I wouldn’t have it above level 5 as it would be too loud for me. The husband said it was totally fine for him though but I’m a very light sleeper.
The only thing I would love to see is a the ability to cool the air as well as heat it; the fan is great and moves the air around the house but during the hotter times it would be great to have a cooling function as well.
I like that I can leave the Dyson out over summer without having a large unsightly fan around the house that is hard to move around and take with us as we move about the house and we are certainly using it more than we thought we would.
The price is up around the $999 mark, so it’s not going to be right for everyone, however, being able to use this all year round and a fan, heater and air purifier makes this product so much more than your average fan. I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve air quality in their home without going to the expense or hassle of larger built in systems.
With this crazy muggy weather – the Dyson has been amazing at keeping cool air sweeping through the living areas…We haven’t really used a heat pump at all. My little boy was struggling with sleeping so we put the Dyson in his room and he slept a lot better! Two family members have since gone out and bought them. One specifically bought it as it would be fantastic for the baby’s room. We”ve had many compliments and questions about it and happily sing it’s praises as it is simply fantastic…….and I’m still free of the summer sneezes in the home too – so that’s a big win in my books! Thanks so much…again!

I’d just like to add that I love how lightweight Dyson’s new Heat/Cool air purifier is!! I have a bad back and I can lift and shift this even on my bad days.
Also I think it’s worth pointing out that due to it’s design it doesn’t get scary hot to touch… although I haven’t had need to test it on full heat mode for long due to weather warming up. I am interested to see how it will handle winter. So far its been cheaper to run than the heatpump!
