Queenstown bucket list

  • Step back in time with a trip to Arrowtown. A historic gold-mining town, the township offers rich cultural history, scenic views, and historic architecture! You’ll really feel like you’ve stepped back in time in Arrowtown.
  • For an outdoorsy adventure, Lake Wakatipu and Moke Lake offer beautiful spots to enjoy a bit of kayaking or paddleboarding if water sports are more your speed.
  • Pack a picnic and head to Bob’s Cove for beautiful scenery and birdsong. Have a go at identifying which birds are singing amongst the skies.
  • For a sweet treat and an exclusive Queenstown experience, head to the Remarkable Sweet Shop for lollies and delicious fudge offerings.

  • Take a drive along the Otago Peninsula and spot New Zealand Fur Seals (Kekeno). Enjoy watching these beautiful creatures from a safe distance and observe the wildlife in their natural habitat.
  • Still Wildlife spotting in the Peninsula? See if you can spot the world’s smallest penguin species! Admire the little blue penguins from a safe distance, and admire more wildlife in their natural habitats.
  • For some indoor educational fun, head to the Tūhura Otago Museum for interactive activities and displays for all ages. For a little scavenger hunt, try to find ten different species of live insects amongst Tūhura’s Tropical Forest.
  • Looking for fun dining? Head to the Otago Farmers Market and get some delicious grub from a wide range of food trucks whilst enjoying all the market has to offer!
