April Fools’ Day prank: Sponge cup cakes

April starts with a laugh and a giggle thanks to April Fools' Day! What better way to begin a new month than with some fun practical jokes?  Prepare this special treat that's sure to fool the kids!

What you need:

• sponges (car sponges work well)
• icing
• patty pans
• decorating embellishments

This treat is best prepared the day or night before April Fools' Day.

Take your sponges and cut them into cupcake sizes and then place your cupcake shaped sponges into patty pans.

Ice and decorate the top of the sponges like you would real cupcakes. 

Leave them on the counter top for the kids to see in the morning or hide them to place into lunch boxes for a special April Fools' school surprise!
