These school holidays take the kids and discover how early European settlers lived in the mid to late 1800's at our open air museum. The Village has a variety of buildings to explore including rustic cottages and houses, a church, school, flour mill, blacksmiths, and courthouse all surrounded by beautiful grounds. Starfish Swim School is a privately run swim school with a 20 metre four lane pool as well as a teaching pool that is 9 metres long. Our holiday program runs every schools holidays Monday – Friday between 9am – 12pm and is a great way for children to learn a lot in a short period of time.

During the holidays you can visit Arion Farm Park to see, touch and feed a variety of farm animals (and even ride a pony). We also run school holiday programmes where your child can be a farmer for a day!Our onsite Cafe serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream is also available. One of the things you will notice about Wellington is its steep streets and sometimes ridiculously narrow roads where you wander how two cars could possibly pass. Nairn Street, a steep Wellington street, is the home to this beautiful 1892 cottage. Get a glimpse of life into three generations of one of Wellington’s original settlers; the Wallis Family. Hand carved furniture, a 1970’s Kenwood Mixer and ‘It’s in the Bag’ showing on the tiny B&W TV. Tours start on the hour and you can book ahead.
