Rich chocolate cake

This chocolate cake is rick and moist with a great nutty texture from the walnuts the whole family will love this fail safe recipe

Ingredients

  • 90g butter

  • 185g packaged cream cheese

  • ⅔ cup castor sugar

  • ⅔ cup brown sugar

    firmly packed

  • 2 eggs

  • ⅔ cup walnuts

    chopped

  • ¾ cup plain flour

  • ¾ cup self-raising flour

  • ¼ cup cocoa

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 1 22cm springform cake pan
  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 mixer
  • 1 wire rack

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 22cm springform cake pan.
  2. Cream butter, cream cheese and sugars in a small bowl with a mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in walnuts, then half the sifted flours and cocoa with the milk, then stir in remaining flours and milk.
  4. Spread into prepared pan. Bake in moderate oven for about 40-50 minutes, or until cooked.
  5. Stand for 5 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool.
  6. Dust with sifted icing sugar before serving.
