Kids love playdough, not only can they model anything they want out of it, but it can also be useful for learning about shapes and colours. This playdough memory game is great for children who love a challenge.
What you need:
- 4 x different colours of playdough
- 8 x identical cups
Number of players:
2+
Activity:
Roll the playdough into balls: two of each four colours. So you should have 2 x red, 2 x blue, 2 x yellow and 2 x green (for example.) Hide each ball underneath a cup. The aim of the game is to find the pairs.
The child lifts two cups. If they match: put the two balls of playdough aside as one pair. If they don’t match, put the cups back down over the playdough balls and try again until all the colours are matched up and there are no more cups to choose from.
Notes:
- You can play this with as many people and as many different coloured balls as you like.
- Use disposable party paper cups if you don’t have eight matching cups in your cupboard.
