Mini apple crumbles

These mini apple crumbles baked in ramekins are not only cheap to make but easy, too! This recipe makes four individual portions to serve with cream or ice cream for a mouth-watering dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 425g tin pie apples

  • ¾ cup self raising flour

    sifted

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup oatmeal

  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 slivered Almonds

  • 80g butter

  • 10 cloves

Equipment

  • 1 4 x ramekins (or similar size dish)
  • 1 bowl

Instructions

  1. Divide apples evenly between dishes.
  2. Place 2 cloves in each dish.
  3. Combine sifted flour and cinnamon in a bowl, rub in butter, add remaining dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle crumble mixture evenly over the four dishes.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Serve with a dollop of cream or ice cream.

Variation
As an alternative, raspberries or blueberries can be used instead of apples.
