Heart shaped eggs recipe

Sometimes you've gotta go the extra mile to get your kids interested. These heart shaped boiled eggs will get your child's attention! They also make a cute Valentine's snack or after school snack idea.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg

    to be hard boiled

Equipment

  • 1 milk carton
  • 1 round chopstick
  • 1 rubber bands
  • 1 saucepan

Instructions

  1. Hard boil your egg.
  2. While it's boiling, cut a corner section off your milk carton, about 8cm x 12 cm, with the fold running down the centreline. (See video.)
  3. When the egg is done, remove it from the saucepan and peel it.
  4. While the egg is still warm, sit it lengthways into the corner of the milk carton section you have cut off.
  5. Place the chopstick lengthways across the egg and secure it, as tightly as you can without breaking the egg surface, with two rubber bands at either end. Leave it for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the chopstick and rubber bands. Cut the egg in half to reveal your heart shaped eggs.
