Make a fancy fan

Need a way to keep cool during the warmer months? I’m sure the kids will jump at the chance for them to create this super easy and fancy fan for themselves, maybe even you if you’re lucky!

What you need:

• sheet of 11-inch by 14-inch construction paper or cardstock
• ribbon or lace
• glue
• safety scissors
• non-toxic markers
• crayons or colored pencils
• glitter
• sequins
• tape

Activity:

With a blank sheet of paper, have your child glue ribbon or lace along the top of one side.

Allow your child the freedom to decorate the paper as they see fit.

They can utilise the glitter and the coloured markers to decorate.

When the decorations are complete and dry, fold the paper into creases accordion style.

Tape the bottom end of the fan closed and open up the top.

The children now have their own home made fancy fan to fan themselves during those hot summer days.
