Serves:

Ingredients

  • clear gift wrap
  • lolly bananas
  • Minties
  • Jaffas
  • sticky tape
  • 30cm pipe cleaners
  • craft glue
  • googley eyes

Method

Cut 15cm squares of clear gift wrap.

Place two lolly bananas on the gift wrap, side by side. Add a Minty to one end of the lolly bananas and two Jaffas for eyes at the end of the Minty. Fold the gift wrap over and trim so the ends just meet. Sticky tape together.

Twist excess at each end and tape onto the back.

Cut pipe cleaners in half and twist 3 lengths around the body of the insect to act as legs.

Wrap a 30cm pipe cleaner around the body and bend and twist to create wings.

Glue on the googley eyes.

Serving Suggestions

Note

  • Even though I call these pipe cleaners they are known as glitter chenille sticks in the craft store.
  • You can also purchase the eyes in discount or craft stores. The eyes were $2 and the pipe cleaners were $5.
  • If you don’t have clear gift wrap, you can try using cling film.
