Make a cuddly toy flying fox

It doesn't take much to amuse kids once you plant the seed of an idea. This cuddly toy flying fox can lead to other ideas like a cuddly toy bungee jump or a swing. Watch the video below to find out how to do it.

What you need:

• 3-5 metres of string
• Drinking straw
• 2 stick-on hooks
• An archway or space where you can rig up the flying fox
• A brave cuddly toy

Thread the string through the drinking straw.

Stick your hooks onto either side of your space. Make sure one is higher than the other so that the string can run downwards – you get better speed that way.

Rig the string to the hooks so that it runs taut and on a downward diagonal across the room or archway.

Tie your cuddly toy to the straw.

Slide him to the high end of the string.

Give him a push.

Whee! Down he goes!
