Maths in the kitchen: Making 3D play dough shapes

Making 3D shapes may sound difficult but with this salt play dough recipe and a little help from our printable worksheet, it’s easy! Learn all about the shapes while hanging out in the kitchen.

What you need:

Activity:

Step 1. Make salt play dough with the kids, getting them to measure the ingredients.

Step 2. When you have a big ball of dough, get the kids to divide it up by half or into quarters, depending on how many children are taking part in the fun.

Step 3. Time to break out the dough cutters and plastic knives! Print our worksheet, discuss the shapes around the room then recreate them with the play dough.
