Chilli chocolate mousse

You don't have to add chilli to this simple custard-based chocolate mousse, but if you do you'll understand why a hint of heat with this easy dessert is to die for.

Ingredients

  • 500ml low fat custard

  • 400g Vanilla Hazelnut yoghurt

  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder

    optional

  • 1 cup Chocolate drinking Powder

  • ½ cup icing sugar

  • 3 powdered gelatine

  • 2 egg whites

  • 200g mixed fresh berries

    optional

  • 50g Milk Chocolate

    grated

  • 1 bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 small saucepan

Instructions

  1. Whisk custard, yogurt, chilli, drinking chocolate and icing sugar in a bowl until combined.
  2. Combine gelatine and 3 tablespoons water in a small saucepan and stir over low heat until gelatine dissolves and liquid is clear.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Beat eggwhites in a clean, dry bowl until soft peaks form.
  5. Fold eggwhites and gelatine mixture through chocolate mixture.
  6. Divide between 6 serving glasses and refrigerate until set.
  7. Serve topped with berries, if desired, and chocolate.
