Easy maple cinnamon granola

This super simple recipe for maple cinnamon granola is great to do with the kids - lots of simple measuring and stirring tasks for small hands! Plus it's full of whole grains and nuts scented with delicious cinnamon and maple.

Easy maple cinnamon granola

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1 cup flaked almonds
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced) and line a large baking tray with baking paper. Measure out the oats, nuts and seeds, and place in a large bowl.

In a separate measuring jug, whisk together the maple syrup, oil, cinnamon and salt. Pour into the dry ingredients and stir well, until everything is coated.

Dump the mixture onto the baking sheet, and spread out in an even layer. Bake for 25 minutes, stirring halfway through, being sure to bring the edges into the middle and vice versa. Let cool completely on the tray.

Note

  • Use any dried fruit you like to make this recipe your own.
  • Quinoa flakes can be used to replace up to half the oats.
  • Granola stores well in an air tight jar at room temperature for about a week.
