Healthy raw caramel dip

This raw caramel dip is a really fantastic, healthy treat. The kids will love the deep caramel flavour and you’ll love how good it is for them!
Raw caramel dip for apples and pears

Ingredients

  • ½ cup macadamia nuts

    soaked in water for a few hours

  • ½ cup dates

    pitted, soaked in water for a few hours

  • 2 tbsp water

  • ½ cup honey

  • 1 tsp vanilla paste

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • sliced apples and pears

    for serving

Equipment

  • 1 food processor or blender
  • 1 airtight container or jar

Instructions

  1. Drain then rinse the soaked nuts and dates, then tip them into a food processor or blender.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients (water, honey, vanilla paste, and sea salt) and blitz until smooth.
  3. Transfer the dip to an airtight container or jar.
  4. Serve with a little plate of thinly sliced apples and pears.

Notes

Tip
Serve this for dessert with a few toasted nuts and fresh dates, too.
Tip
Spread over wholemeal banana bread for a yummy caramel snack.
Variation
Swap half of the macadamias with almonds for extra flavour!
Storage
Keep in the fridge in an airtight container or jar for no more than two weeks.
