Potato gratin

Potato gratin - also known as Layered potato bake - is an easy dinner accompaniment you can prepare ahead of time. This is the perfect dish to make when you are feeding a crowd - and it's always a hit!

Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes

  • 1 tbsp pouring cream

  • 1 small block tasty cheese

    to be grated

  • butter

    for greasing and topping

Equipment

  • 1 ovenproof dish
  • 1 grater

Instructions

  1. Grease an ovenproof dish and preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  2. Slice potatoes thinly and grate the cheese.
  3. Add a layer of sliced potatoes and top with grated cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  4. Pour the carton of cream over the layers and add 1 dollop of butter on top.
  5. Bake for 45-60 minutes.
