Halloween Jack Skellington cupcakes

Remember Jack Skellington, the hero from Tim Burton's movie, Nightmare Before Christmas? Make your Halloween party table extra spooky this year with some Jack Skellington cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 12 basic vanilla cupcakes

    This recipe uses pre-made cupcakes; a separate recipe is linked in the source.

  • 1 buttercream icing

    This recipe uses pre-made icing; a separate recipe is linked in the source.

  • 1 black writing icing

  • 1 Black Licorice straps

    240g, 2 metres

Equipment

  • 1 toothpick
  • 1 sharp knife

Instructions

  1. Spread each cupcake with icing.
  2. Now use a toothpick to hollow out two eye sockets in the white icing.
  3. Fill the eye sockets with black writing icing. Use the toothpick to smooth it out.
  4. Cut small single strips of licorice from the thick strap. Use one 5cm piece for Jack’s mouth and two small 2cm pieces for his nose.
  5. Add vertical lines across his mouth using the black writing icing and a toothpick.

Notes

Tip
Any licorice sticks will do. Just cut them to size with a sharp knife.
