Ingredients

  • 6 Sausages of your choice

  • 1 tsp American mustard

  • 1 tbsp Tomato sauce

  • 1 sheet Ready-to-use frozen puff pastry, thawed

  • 2 tbsp Milk

  • 12 Edible eyes

Instructions

  1. Heat a frying pan to medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Pan fry the sausages, turning regularly, for around 8-10 minutes or until just cooked.
  3. Remove sausages from the pan and set aside to cool a little.
  4. Preheat oven to 190°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  5. Place the puff pastry sheet on a clean chopping board and, using a sharp knife, cut into strips approximately 5mm wide.
  6. Brush each sausage with some of the tomato and ketchup mix then wrap with the pastry strips until covered (leaving a gap near the top for the eyes, as pictured).
  7. Place the sausages on the tray and brush the pastry with a little milk.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden.
  9. Decorate with edible eyes (available from baking retailers) or for a home-made option, add a dot of mustard and a smaller dot of tomato sauce.
  10. Serve with tomato sauce for dipping!
