Halloween moon mobile

Kids of all ages will enjoy making this spooky Halloween moon mobile. Get the kids crafting as they cut out wicked witches, plump pumpkins and beastly bats to hang from this Halloween moon mobile.

What you need:

  • Black and orange craft paper
  • White sheet of cardboard
  • Black string or wool
  • Silver paint
  • Black paint
  • Large paper plate

Activity:

Paint one plate black. Let dry.

Cut a crescent shaped moon out of white cardboard.

Draw the outline of small bats and witches on the black craft paper. Cut these out and set aside.

Draw the outline of pumpkins and moons on the orange craft paper. Cut these out and set aside.

Punch a hole in the centre of the black plate.

Punch a hole at the top of the crescent moon shape.

Tie the string through the top hole in the crescent moon and tie the other end through the centre of the black plate. The moon will now hang from the black plate.

Tie a knot to secure each end or use tape to stick it down.

Punch six holes along the edge of the black plate.

Punch a hole in the top of each of the Halloween shapes. Tie a string in the shape and knot into place.

Tie the other end of the string through a hole along the edge of the black plate.

To hang from the ceiling, make two holes on either edge of the black plate and tie a length of string to form a loop to hang the mobile.
