Watermelon fangs

These watermelon 'fangs' are great fun for the kids! These make a healthy Halloween treat, that the kids just might go for! Or a monster twist on the after school fruit snack.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 whole watermelon

    skin wiped clean

  • 1 cup desiccated coconut

  • 1 Small knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Instructions

  1. Wipe the skin of the watermelon to get rid of any dirt.
  2. Slice the watermelon into 16 slices. Use a small knife to cut a zigzag pattern of fangs into each piece of melon.
  3. Arrange the melon pieces into 8 'mouths' (pairing two slices together) and sprinkle the pointy bits with coconut to make the white fangs.

Variation
Try using different melon types for multi-colored monster mouths.
Storage
Best served immediately. If storing, keep refrigerated but the coconut may soften.
