Make spooky balloon ghosts

Make spooky balloon ghosts

Kids love balloons so why not grab some white ones and decorate your house for Halloween this year.  Hang them from the trees or the eaves, just make sure they look spooky.

What you need:

  • white balloons
  • disposable table cloth (white)
  • white string
  • black marker pen
  • scissors

Number of players:

Activity:

Blow up your balloon (not too full, it needs to retain a round shape to look 'ghost-y').

With the tied-off end at the top, draw eyes and a mouth on your ghost using the black marker pen.

Cut a piece of the table cloth to size and drape it over the balloon.

Secure it there by tying the string around the tied-off end and the cloth at the same time.

Hang your ghost out on the eaves for Halloween.  Make a few so he has some friends to go a-hauntin' with.

Hints and tips:

  • You can use any white cloth: cheese cloth, tulle or calico would also work. Just use whatever you can find around the house.
  • You could make the ghosts glow by placing glow sticks inside them before you blow them up. A bit fiddly, but worth the effort.
  • Thanks to our sister company Kidspot Australia for creating the instructional video.
