Odd one out

This is a great game to play with your little one to help them differentiate between certain objects. They may need a little help at first but it won’t be long until they’re showing you by themselves. This activity can be played with any objects as long as they are the same.

What you need:

  • any objects that you can use to make pairs
  • common materials used for this game are fruits and biscuits
  • a fruit bowl or a plate is also handy

Number of players:
1+

Activity:

Place two identical bits of fruit and another type of fruit and ask your child which is the odd one out.

Build this game up and make it more difficult with card shapes or pictures.

This is a fun game which enables your young child to learn and understand the concepts of same and different.
