I have done the hatchimal one, obviously. And I have done a unicorn one before too. I would love to do a dragon one, that looked quite straight forward too. Yay! My eldest daughter is soo obsessed with dragons too.

How To Train Your Dragon cake is so inspired! We love this movie and it’s making me think of using this for a possible birthday theme. Black and white seems the easiest and it can even be for adults too. Lego is a great one too, and can be so versatile.

Omg, I have been making themed birthday cakes for all 3 of my children for the last 11yrs and I love it, just seeing the look on their faces makes it so worth it. It’s hard to give a favourite but if I had to it would have to be a captain underpants I made for my oldest son, a sonic the hedgehog cake for 2nd oldest and a pink puppy cake for my little girl and they all had Rainbow layers.

The dinosaur cake one looks fabulous and easy to make, I did a similar one for a previous birthday. Also an easy one is a farm one with green dyed coconut for grass. I am thinking of making a ball pit one and one with tools for this year.

All great ideas! My daughter turns 7 in December and I’ve decided to make a cake this year! Not sure how it will go yet, but I will try! Thanks for the ideas as I’ve asked her what she wants and of course they are all cakes that seem waaaayyyy too difficult haha

Wow! These are so fabulous!! I saw the first two and thought ‘I will be making these next year for my dino loving boys 6th and my unicorn loving girls 8th birthdays’ but then I scrolled further and thought, or this one, or this one, they all looks so good!! My kids would love any of them!!

I love making cakes!! I always make cakes for my kids and nieces and nephews and I love a challenge and doing something new. My niece is wanting a unicorn cake for her 8th birthday so I can’t wait to give it a go and still waiting for a request for a lego cake, that would be great!

I have made a princess themed cake with a castle and lots of pink icing which took a bit of time to make but my daughter loved it. The next one that the kids want is a layered colour cake which will take a bit of time to make but as long as the like it that’s the main thing. Cakes take a bit of time to make so I make sure I hAve plenty of time to complete it.

What cool ideas!!! I have a 5th bday coming up and it’s kinda special for us being that it’s 5 and his bday on Halloween but I’m by no means a cake maker, however these have given me some massive inspo and seem pretty easy without being over the top… I particular like the training your dragon toothless one being quite suited for Halloween but also still kid and boyish.
I always admire these Mummas I see baking incredible works of art and wonder how on earth they even do it and without it costing an arm and a leg… Now I Havea few secret tricks yay.

Wowee these 5 featured cakes in this article and definitely something!! I have never made one but I always pay around $80 for a cake maker to make them. I find it less stressful and well I’m not the best cake maker they usually turn out flat almost like a pancake so could see some very disappointed children if I was to make a themed birthday cake LoL. We have had paw patrol theme, lolly theme, frozen theme and dinosaur theme. The children absolutely loved it.
