Craft a silver foil crown
This impressive jewelled crown is fabulous for dress-ups and all sorts of imaginative play. Get your child to decorate it however they wish. It works best as a pretty silver crown for a Rapunzel dress up. Add a blonde wig and try it as an original Book Week costume.
What you need:
- cardboard
- aluminium foil
- scissors
- stapler
- glue
- decorations (sequins, fake jewels, glitter, buttons, beads, etc.)
Number of players:
1+
Activity:
Cut a long strip of cardboard, making sure it is at least 10cm wide.
Glue aluminium foil to one side of the strip.
Along one of the lengths cut out triangles to create sharp diagonal teeth-like points.
Measure the strip to fit your child’s head.
Staple in place to form a large round ring with teeth-like points at the top circumference.
This is the beginnings of a crown.
Cut away any extra extensions.
Get your child to decorate the silver foil crown using whatever decorations they desire.
