Dance with baby

While babies lack the ability to communicate through words, they have many ways of expressing what they like and dislike. One way to communicate with baby is through song. Share the joy of music with movement and touch.

Turn on your favourite tunes and turn them up. Not too loud, we don’t want to scare baby!

Hold baby and start to move about the room.

Help baby feel the beat with your movements and soon, they will start to mimic the beat with their hands or even their head.

Notes:

• We often think that the music we play for our babies must be designed for babies. This is not always the case. Babies will love the music you listen to and are familiar with. Mix it up a little and you will be surprised.
