Every kid loves bingo and what better way to play than to be learning your maths too! Bingo can be played with any operation from addition to multiplication, subtraction and division. The beauty is you can adapt the sums to suit the age level and ability of the kids.

What you need:

• A4 construction card
• markers
• scissors
• bingo chips (this could be paper circles)
• a caller
• mathmatical sums

Number of players:
3+

Activity:

Fold construction paper into four and cut.

Draw grids of 20 squares on each page.

Write a number in each square, randomly from 1 to 10 or for older children, 1 to 20.

The caller makes up a list of equations for the numbers written on each square, for eg equations that equal 1 to 10 or 1 to 20; so if the number 8 was on a square, the equation could be 4+4 or 6+2.

The caller calls out the equation, not the answer/sum.

Players who add up correctly mark the answer  on their card.

Notes:

• For older players, you could change the operation of the sum using multiplication, division or subtraction.
