Granola bars

These bars are great to pop in the lunch box or as an afternoon snack they are healthy and delicious

Ingredients

  • 175g unsalted butter

  • 3 tbsp golden syrup

  • ½ cup soft brown sugar

    firmly packed (100g)

  • 1 lemon

    Juice of

  • 250g rolled oats

  • 2 tbsp slivered almonds

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 50g raisins

  • 1 Pinch ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 baking tray (26cm x 18cm)
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (not fanforced).
  2. Grease and line the base of a 26cm x 18cm baking tray.
  3. Place the butter, golden syrup, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan over low heat until melted.
  4. Place oats, almonds, seeds, raisins and spices in a bowl, add butter mixture, then stir to combine.
  5. Press mixture into prepared tray and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Turn out onto a flat baking sheet a further 15 minutes or until crisp.
  7. Cool, then cut into squares.
