Memory – on a tray

Serve up all sorts of fun with memory on a tray. A great kids activity and party game for children of all ages. It’s fun to make the pieces yourself and even easier to play and keep your kids’ minds active and learning.

What you need:

  • A tray
  • A variety of objects
  • Pencil and paper for each child

Number of players:
3+

Activity:

Place a number of objects on a tray in no particular order while the children are in another room or focusing on a different activity.

A variety of shapes and sizes work best. For example, a paper clip, 50 cent piece, receipt, biscuit, envelope, fork etc.

The number of objects included is best dictated by the age of the participants – place more objects for older groups and fewer for younger groups.

When the children are ready, set the tray down for less than 60 seconds (again, this is best dictated by the children’s ages) and then remove from the room or cover with a cloth.

The children then write down each of the objects that they remember from the tray, if children are too young to write, get them to try to draw the objects.

Whoever is able to list the most objects accurately WINS!

It’s always fun to bring the tray back in and remind the group what was there.
