Summing it up magic trick

    Summing it up magic trick

This is a simple magic trick your child can learn using the calculator. It may even get them interested in maths!

    What you need:

    • A calculator

    Number of players:
    1+

    Activity:

The idea of this magic trick is that certain sums will give you a 'written'  answer on the calculator.

    For instance:

If Jill took 7000 small steps (punch in 7000)

and Jack took 714 large steps (punch in + 714)

Where were they going? (punch in =)

You should have the answer: 7714.

    Turn the calculator upside down…

…and it looks like the word "hill"

If you have a particularly mathematical child, she will probably spend hours working out new ones and more than likely "BOOBS" will be amongst them.
