Everybody needs a basic batter recipe in their cookbook! 

Notes

  • Make sure you shake off excess batter before you fry your fish or chicken.
  • You can use this batter immediately but if you let it sit for an hour, it will give you a lighter, crisper finished product.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Plain Flour

  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 cup Milk

  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
  2. Whisk in milk and water until it is the consistency that will coat the back of a spoon.
  3. Dip your fish or chicken into the batter.
  4. Fry in hot oil until golden.
