- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
Whisk in milk and water until it is the consistency that will coat the back of a spoon.
Dip your fish or chicken into the batter.
Fry in hot oil until golden.
- Make sure you shake off excess batter before you fry your fish or chicken.
- You can use this batter immediately but if you let it sit for an hour, it will give you a lighter, crisper finished product.
