Create a fun monster hand puppet out of an old box. Here’s how.
What you need:
- Small box
- Tape
- Construction paper or paint
- Felt
- Egg cartons
- Foil
- Googly eyes
- Scissors
- Double-sided tape
Number of players:
1+
Activity:
If one end of the box has been opened, tape it shut.
Cut the box in half and put your hand inside. Bend it so the uncut side is touching top and bottom when you close your hand, this will become the mouth of your box puppet.
Next, cover all flat surfaces in one colour using either paint or construction paper.
You can leave as is or stick felt to the top and bottom of the head and inside the mouth.
For the mouth use a red or black piece of felt or paper and cut it into an oval shape.
Tape into place.
You can add a tongue at this stage.
For the fangs, just cut two triangles about 7cm long and bend the top over 1cm and attach to roof of mouth.
Stick on small triangles of felt to create nostrils.
Cover two egg carton cups in foil and then draw on eyes or add googly eyes.
Tape the egg carton eyes on top of the head.
Your puppet is now ready.
