Magazine picture puzzles
If you're stuck for entertainment on a rainy day and don't want to park your kids in front of the telly (again!) try making your own picture puzzles out of old magazines.
What you need:
- Some old magazines
- Scissors
- Glue
- Thick cardboard
Number of players:
1+
Activity:
Look through the magazines with your kids an let them choose some pictures to make their puzzles with. A whole page scene is ideal.
Help them cut out the pictures and use strong glue to stick the picture onto thick cardboard.
When it is dry, cut it into puzzle shapes. With young children start with four or five simple shapes. For older children you can make it more challenging with 10 or more pieces.
Store and label the puzzles in resealable bags or a shoe box for next time you need some easy 'screen-free' entertainment.
