There’s so much more to do with sand and shells than just collect them. Painting is always fun but what about this? A play dough activity that feels like it too has been collected from the edges of the ocean.
What you need:
- 1 cup play sand
- 1 cup flour
- 1tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup-3/4 cup of boiling water ( add in small increments)
- shells
- twigs
Activity:
Add all of your dry ingedients in a bowl and mox well.
Slowly add the boiling water being careful not to burn yourself. Knead as you add. Soon, you’ll have a play dough mixture with a gritty texture. Perfect for this sensory activity.
Set out the sandy play dough, some shells and twigs and set the kids free!
Create beach critters, shell towers or you can stack shells into a tower using the play dough as a glue between the layers.
