Summing it up magic trick
This is a simple magic trick your child can learn using the calculator. It may even get them interested in maths!
What you need:
- A calculator
Number of players:
1+
Activity:
The idea of this magic trick is that certain sums will give you a 'written' answer on the calculator.
For instance:
If Jill took 7000 small steps (punch in 7000)
and Jack took 714 large steps (punch in + 714)
Where were they going? (punch in =)
You should have the answer: 7714.
Turn the calculator upside down…
…and it looks like the word "hill"
If you have a particularly mathematical child, she will probably spend hours working out new ones and more than likely "BOOBS" will be amongst them.
