About National Youth Theatre

Open to all without audition, National Youth Theatre is New Zealand’s premier musical theatre training programme for young people aged 7-21. Inclusive and supportive, National Youth Theatre changes lives from the stage.

Major Theatre Productions

NYT stages multiple significant productions every year. These include two in Auckland CBD at the Kiri te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre, one in Manukau at the Due Drop Events Centre and one in Hamilton at the Clarence Street Theatre.

Previous shows include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Disney’s High School Musical, CATS, Disney’s The Lion King JR. and Wendy: The Peter Pan Musical.

There are no auditions to be part of the ensemble and cast members will perform on stage in all performances. Lead roles are auditioned from within the cast.

Other programmes include AllStars School Holiday Programmes, Triple Threat Weekly Classes.
