Awesome to be included in this trial! I’ve had the boys outside in the sun for a majority of the time this summer playing on their bikes, tramp, at the beach, on summer holiday, walks and picnics in the shade when we can but we’re always exposed to those harsh rays, and I was confident the kids were well covered and protected with Banana Boat sunscreen. We use it daily before pre-school. It’s easy to apply and non sticky – absorbed quickly and doesn’t linger on the skin getting all over their clothes, or the furniture. The spray is wetter to apply, just something to note before spraying, and ensure to reapply. Very happy with BB doing the job, thanks!
This was an amazing opportunity to be apart of and despite the horrible weather we managed to get to the beach for a good day out. Venturing out with 5 under 6 isn’t an easy task on the best of days. The spray van was perfect for the older kids 5 & 6 to apply themselves while I got the babies sorted. The cream was easy to apply and great for the faces so there was no tears. Both bottle and squeeze tube were packaged well and the kids were very interested from the moment the parcel arrived. Can not wait to use it more over the summer days to come.
Thank you for the opportunity to trial these products. The kids were excited to see the packaging of these sunscreens and were super co-operative in applying them. The cream was easily squeezed out the tube and in a controlled manner. There was no horrible aroma and when applied to the skin was a good consistency ensuring full coverage. It didn’t appear as oily as some sunscreen lotions we have applied before. The spray was a light mist and while the children were happy to use this, I too enjoyed this product for myself. Felt lighter than the cream so perhaps not as confident that the kids were completely protected. Both products did not seem to flare up my middle child eczema which other sun protection products have in the past. Time needed to reapply seemed more frequent than other sunscreen products. I would suggest the spray would be used faster than the lotion so perhaps the lotion would be better value for money (I’m not sure on prices though).
Hi Kidspot – thanks for this great product to trial. Unfortunately we had pretty much non stop rain for around 2 weeks after we received the sunscreen so have only just now been able to try it out! Anyway we did make a video which I will try and post up soon, but basically the sunscreen goes on really well, the spray is a bit harder for little ones to try and use so the splodge on lotion is good for them instead. The lotion doesn’t seem to leave much of a grease on the skin, and we didn’t get burnt so it must have done its job!!! 😀 I like the spray as its easier for me to just apply and then get the kids to rub it in whereas with lotion you have to put it on fingers rub it in or on the spot and rub it in, so the spray does save more time. Also there isn’t a smell, and my kid’s and my skin didn’t react or anything to it so it was definitely skin friendly for us 🙂 Overall would definitely tell others about this product, only downside is that you have to reapply after 2 hours.

The name ‘Banana Boat’ instantly conjures up images of summer fun for me, I also love the bright and bold packaging – the blue and yellow reminds me of the sun and sea!
My older kids (9 & 11) are pretty good about putting sunscreen on, but it’s such a drama when it comes to the four year old! However, the novelty of the spray was too much for him to resist, and the process was pretty painless! I thought I’d have to spray at arms length, and we’d have to cover our eyes and mouth so as not to cop stingy sunscreen in our eyes, or be tasting it all day, but it had just the right amount of spray and pressure!
It was a super quick application, and rubbed in easily. I was a little skeptical of a spray over a thick cream for sun protection, but didn’t notice any reddening of his skin after an hour or so at the beach. Also found that the sand didn’t stick to him as badly as with some of the greasier sunscreens we have tried in the past. I would probably go for the cream value wise, and there are more applications per product, however for the fact my 4 yr old is happy to have it applied, the spray is well worth it.
My big kids used the cream. Bravo on the non drippy valve in the nozzle!! It’s great that when you stop squeezing, it stops coming out! Nothing worse than having way too much sunscreen on your hands and no where to rub it – it’s usually the predicament the kids end up in if left to their own devices!
The cream, again, absorbed easily with no greasy after feel. They didn’t get that horrible sweaty/sunscreen combo after a run around the beach the the soccer ball either. And, like the 4 yr old, there was no reddening of their skin even after being so active.
As a mum, love the high spf factor, and I will always reach for the product with less ingredients – as long as it’s still effective, which Banana Boat appears to be.
I loved the banana boat sunscreens, the packaging of the spray and cream is attractive,
love the colour and wording and love the easy instructions on back and that they had a couple of other tips for staying safe in the sun. The products are a good size. I used on my 10 and 15 year old and myself at beach, at my sons softball and outdoor karate training, and on way to sports, great product, the spray is not greasy like a couple of spray sunscreens have used in past, is very easy to use, both boys lived the spray and ease of use, the cream was also a nice texture not gritty, both held up well in the sun. Best thing was my 10 year old who has sensitive skin and is prone to eczema alit of products irritate his skin, but he was able to use this product with no irritation to his skin at all, so I give these sunscreens a big thumbs up, easy to use, attractive, child friendly, great texture, doesn’t irritate skin even on my child who has very sensitive skin, will definitely buy this product.
Thank you for letting us trial this sunscreen.First off, I must say I was really impressed with the Spray bottle. Its so easy to use, and it is so convenient when out and about. We took ours to the A&P show and it was a hot day so we really put it to the test. We applied before heading out then once again while out and about, it was a very hot day, but the Banana Boat sunscreen stood up to the test and my children and I didn’t get sunburnt. This product works well! The spray is a light mist, and it isn’t greasy. Its so quick to apply and I love how it feels so light on my skin. My children helped themselves to it and didn’t complain! I will be buying this product once we run out!
We also received the sunscreen lotion. Again, this product works well and is great for larger areas. It is thicker than the spray, although, still a great product which works well, no strong smell, and great for the whole family!
Thank you for the opportunity to trial these sunscreens. The lotion was great, good size, easy to use and apply. Loved that it didn’t have a strong fragrance and it wasn’t greasy. Also, love that it had less ingredients and seemed more natural and kinder to my children’s skin. I have teens and young boys 5 & 6 and they have all been using it. I have applied it on my boys every morning before school and also in the weekends before the beach, before sports etc and it has held up well.
The spray has also been great, easy to use and good coverage. Great for quick application on arms and legs. I used it for my back as it’s hard to reach myself and found it amazing.
Big thumbs up for these products. Good size, good price, non greasy, no strong smells, less ingredients, safe and effective. Will buy again, thanks.
We were lucky enough to try these sunblock and we’re very impressed. The spray is easy for all the kids to use themselves and does not leave a sticky residue. Even when the kids were playing in the water it didn’t go in their eyes. The cream came out of the tube easily and it had a great consistency. We would definitely purchase these.
I firstly noticed the packaging and was impressed with the colours on the packaging and the smooth feeling of the tube. The directions of use and tips on using sunscreen were an excellent idea on the bottles.
My boys are surfing this summer and so we trialed the spray on sunscreen first. It was very easy to apply and I feel I got an all over coverage easily. There was no messy sticky hands afterwards, so this was the perfect option for using at the beach.
Each morning before school my boys applied the sunscreen themselves from the tube. They said they too liked the bright packaging and felt the sunscreen was the right consistency so they didn’t pour out too much. It went on easily and left no residue or colour on their skin. Again another thumbs up for this.
We’ll definitely be buying these products again in the future as they are a good price in the supermarket and perform well for our family in the sun.

The spray application was super easy and fast to get on which was expremely helpfull when my 6year old is a busy body and cant stay still(no patience). went on well didnt have to rub it in much. my son definatly has enjoyed using the spray lotion as its easier amd faster for him. when we have more time to wait around ect ill use the lotion which takes a bit more rubbing in then the spray but seemed like fuller better protection. wasnt strong smelling so that was great wasnt greasy. didnt so much like that we had to reapply often as my son would use it at school and knowing him he missed re-applying the loton at lunch breaks. All in all it does the job seems safer to use for kids, good protection & easy application. Thank you
