Halloween treat cups

Halloween treat cups

Get the kids decorating for Halloween this year and have them make these fab treat cups. Pass them out to trick or treaters or collect your own sweets, either way you will have Halloween treat cups to be proud of.

What you need:

  • empty egg carton
  • paint
  • colourful tissue paper
  • scissors
  • glue stick and white craft glue
  • googly eyes
  • black permanent marker

Number of players:
1+

Activity:

Cut the bumpy half of your egg carton into individual egg cups, and trim the edges neatly.

Paint each egg cup in your favourite Halloween colours, then set aside to dry.

Cut 10cm squares of tissue paper, using the glue stick to dab glue on the centre of each square.

Press each square of tissue paper into a dry egg cup, pressing with your finger to secure the glue in the bottom of the cup.

Use white craft glue to stick on some googly eyes and a black permanent marker to draw on a monster mouth.

Fill your Halloween Treat Cup with treats!

Notes:

  • For a shimmery effect, sprinkle glitter onto your painted egg cups before they dry!
  • Colour suggestions: Try black with red or purple for vampire cups; black and green for Frankenstein; or red and yellow for pumpkin cups.
  • Under fives may need some help with cutting – be sure a grown up is nearby to help.
