Cupcake picture painting

Decorating cupcakes can be a bit of an art or it can be a slap-dash kind of affair, but this cupcake game for the kids will teach all kinds of cool things – and it’s yummy of course! Get the kids involved in copying designs and then making their own too!

What you need:

• Basic vanilla cupcake recipe ingredients
• mixed coloured sprinkles
• chocolate sprinkles
• cherries (or red lolly)
• Jaffas
• Smarties
• banana lollies
• musk sticks
• Maltesers
• printer
• scissors
• laminator (optional)

Get the kids and their friends together, print and decorate with this cool cooking game. Great for parties or weekend play!

Here’s how.

Create the cupcakes and the icing from the Basic vanilla cupcake recipe.

Hand each player a cupcake and set out the toppings in the centre of the table.

Print the cupcake page below and cut out the cards. You may choose to laminate the cards if you have the time. It will certainly protect them from the kids mess!

Lay the cards out flat, face down and have one person choose a card. Turn the card over and on the word “GO!” from the referee (that’s you mum or dad), the kids must decorate their cupcake as instructed.

First to decorate correctly, wins!

Notes:

For older kids, you may like to have them ice the cake and for the younger ones, you can jsut let them free with the lollies.
